Am I the only one who thinks this way?

Why do people have sex as if it's a past time?

How can you just go around knocking people up and not really care if you love them or not?

Isn't sex an act of love? Or am i just fucking insane? Does anyone care?

Fun is an opinion. Some people might actually think it's not fun. I don't know of any who don't, but I'm sure there's someone out there somewhere that doesn't think that it's fun. Sex shouldn't happen until you've found that one and you're married to them. Sex is supposed to be something special, something saved for that special moment in your life. You should just knock people up and not care about them. That's completely insane. So no Sam, you're not insane.

You're not insane...and you know what...don't let anyone tell you that having sex with everyone is okay, because its not.

Another teacher, who is younger than me by at least a year, has probably slept with 3-4 people since she moved here from Minnesota. And then she's all upset because she gets an STD and has to talk to her current boyfriend about it? I don't feel sorry for you one bit. Duh? You sleep with that many people in a short amount of time, yeah, you're going to catch something.

Sex to her isn't about love or committment. It's about partying and trying to get some stupid moronic drunk man to stay with her for more than five seconds. And it's retarded.

My boyfriend and I have been arguing alot lately...and the teacher next door to me has the gall to tell me that we need to have sex. That that will correct all of the issues. And it won't, because I'll feel guilty, and he'll feel guilty, and then what's the point of even getting married, you know? There isn't one. We already have to live in the same apt (Las Vegas is mucho $$$$...don't ever move here)... He's got his room, I've got mine. And there's no sex involved. And we're both really happy with that arrangement. Sex is just a hobby for some people, a tool to manipulate a partner...

Keep putting sex up there on the pedestal, buddy, because that's where it belongs.

While pre-martial sex may not be for you --and you are free to make that choice--I find it annoying that you have branded everyone who does not choose as you did with the sex fiend brush. You can have responsible sex without being head over heels for the partner--and it doesn't make you a manipulator.

You don't want other people to judge you for your choices, you should refrain from judging them. I'm not saying that you need to share their lifestyle--but a little more compassion and a lost less self-righteousness would be appreciated.

Sam--sex is personal. Only you know when its right for you. It can be an act of love--or it can simply be an act of lust. Whatever it is, you should only do it when you are ready--but everyone is ready at different times--so try to understand other people rather than condemning them for having a different stance.

I wasn't personally offended--As I said, sex is personal--as are my beliefs regarding when and where sex is acceptable. However, I could see people being offended by these comments (which you didn't write):

My point was simply that it is not wrong for you to want to wait, and it is not wrong for others to choose not to wait. Everyone is different and we should respect everyone's right to make decisions for themselves. I applaud your decision to wait--but not more than I would applaud someone's well-thought out decision to have responsible sex. It's when people havent thought about it that it is a problem. Yes, premarital sex is a sin--but so is judging others or having bad thoughts--none of us are so righteous that we can judge others.
