I've been using ObjectDock Plus (currently using 1.1.510u) since just before the New Year and I really like it! Naturally, though, I have my own way of working that I want to be able to streamline so here are my requests... Before I start, I apologise if these are old hat to lots of you. I have been watching the forums for a while now but not seen them.

1) Selectable magnifation for flyout menus. So I can get flyout menu icons of 128, for example. Ideally it'd be per folder; I'm a sad old man with folders full of pictures of celebrity females and I'd like to select that folder to have greater magnification than other flyout menus.

2) Option regarding bringing shortcut items to the front if already running to be applied/over-ridden on individual shortcuts. If I have IE in my shortcut bar I want each click to run another instance of IE. I don't want the same behaviour from my Outlook shortcut; I want that to bring to the front an already running instance.

3) Drag 'n' drop on a particular dock icon to be equivalent to bring the window to the foreground and do an equivalent drag 'n' drop to that. I don't know if this is at all possible and I fear not. If not it would be great if, when you hover over running applications in the dock whilst dragging a file, ready to drop, that application would pop to the front as it does with the Windows task bar. Would make things easier.

4) The minimise button on Firefox to show a small screenshot of the program when in the tray, like with other applications.

5) Some icons on the dock vanish "behind" the dock background. I cannot reliably reproduce this but it has happened several times to date with all versions I have used.

6) I think this one is often asked for but... system tray/taskbar notification area _and_ the taskbar itself all on one dock. Pretty please!

Since I can't edit my initial post let me add these three things:

7) Ability to apply a dock icon to a particular directory viewed in Windows Explorer. For example, if I have two instances of explorer open it would be great if I could set "F:\Music" to be a music related folder icon, whilst my "F:\Documents" could appear document related. Perhaps this could only work with the full path set to show in the title bar in Explorer options and ObjectDock checking a Window title...

8) Basically the same as above but applied to other programs where the Window title changes, like in MSVC++.

9) Closely tied to number 2) I have Digiguide running and, when minimised, it shows in my systray/taskbar notification area. I can double click on that icon to bring it to the front which is fine but, as it's shown as a running shortcut in my dock, I'd quite like to be able to set that shortcut to be the same as unhiding the window, and showing it normally.

I _do_ realise some of this stuff affects so few people it won't be implemented ever, or perhaps is just too much work for too little gain but as I was never, ever, told by my mother: if you don't ask, you don't get.

Re: #7: perhaps I misunderstand, but I think I do this all the time (ex. an mp3 directory) Just open file explorer to the directory you want. Then just drag that directory to a dock, name it whatever you like and set the icon to whatever you like. When you click on the icon, file explorer will open to that directory.

Re: #6, here, I guess you are focusing on creating a COMBINED sys tray/task bar. You can do seperata bars for each. But you want to do them together as one bar.

#6: Yep, you are correct I am wishing to combine them as having a second bar looks aesthetically unappealing as I want them both on the bottom of the screen.

#7: I was really referring to icons shown in the main dock (I don't use any tabbed docks currently) that represent currently running applications. So, when I start Windows Explorer I currently get a folder icon appear in the dock which, when I hover over it, will show the window title for that Explorer window.

I would to be able to have different icons shown depending on what folder Explorer was currently viewing so if I changed directory in that instance of Explorer to "Music" it would show an icon I had chosen somewhere in the preferences for music, etc. Not easy, I grant you.

re #7, Ahhhh. That is a much clearer explanation. Yes, that would be cool.

That would give you a visual clue as to what folder is open without having to hover over the icon. Yes, we *must* have that. That, and strawberries.

On item #4 I minimize Firefox and it does show the screenshot window in the taskbar dock. I'm using version 1.0 of Firefox if that makes a difference.
On #5 I have this problem sporadically when I set a standard dock to be "Always On Top" If I set it to normal Z ordering the problem does not appear. However, I use one standard dock for my taskbar and the other for my systray so I want them to stay on top.
I'd like to add ;
1) automatic scrolling of folder lists without having to click the arrows at the top or bottom of the list.
2) Tool Tips within folder list and right click compatibility.

#4: Interesting. I am using 1.0, too. If I click the dock icon which causes it to be minimized, that works (i.e. shows the screenshot), by the way. But if I click the minimize button of Firefox a screenshot appears for a few hundredths of a second, then goes.

#5: You're right, my dock is also a standard one set to be always on top.

#4 I checked and your right. I don't use the minimize button all that much. It does shrink the icon but no screen shot. Well... hopefully it will get resolved in the next update.

If we haven't already asked for enough, I'd like to add world peace to the list.

#3 Yes I very much agree with this. This is very big part of the task bar functionality which has been left out.

All good. Add:

A minimizing function. Something like a reverse tab. I'd really like to keep the icons on top always, but sometimes I need to be able to minimize them. ... So that's like a reverse tabs - they stay out till I click them to go away.

Make the Tab portion of the tab be an icon. After spending 50gillion hours picking out pretty icons for objectdock there's no way I'm using the tabs with like a big dumb red tab thing. Make it an icon! ... Plz.

An option to not have regular object dock appear in the systray.

An option to magnify icons in a tabbed dock.

Fix the Zordering ... I mean it really just doesn't work. Try it with Opera. (It doesn't work on more than just Opera, that's just an easy example)

Fix the screenshots of minimized windows in general. This is an awesome feature, but half the time it doesn't actually snap a shot (firefox) and the other half the time it disappears after a short time. ... I think the first shot disappears when there are more than one window minimized and I max/min a second window.

Make the background of a tabbed transparantable. -- In general I just don't understand why tabbed and regular are seperate functions. Why wouldn't you just have a 'Min' icon docklet that would disappear the regular bar and then like settings to say if the regular bar is always in/out how far it sticks out when it's in/out.

I'd like to have icons be able to be different sizes on a single dock.

Regular docks that can be position at a specific point on a window rather than just left/right/center.

In general I've got to say this is stardock's best program. It's the only one that I feel you guys really have no competition on. Sweetness. Thanks for all the goodness! I'm only asking for more. ... Cause I'm greedy.
