I have in the last couple years used both Sysmetrix and Rainmeter. Over that time the abilities of each program have grown to the point where there is little I can't monitor on my computer. The thing I've noticed is that the last few builds of Sysmetrix have really started to eat up my physical memory. Some of the skins available are really quite amazing. I've also ran some of the widgets (DX2) available and noticed that they have very little footprint as compared to either program, but they do not have the bells and whistles either. Lately I've gone to using Rainmeter and it seems to use about 1/2 of the resources to display the same info as Sysmetrix. I spend most of my time in CAD applications which tend to grab as much resources as they can and I want opinions (or facts) as to how to best monitor resources without using resources to do it. For me the big items to monitor are Physical & Virtual Memory, Hard Drive Space and Net Usage
