Inner glow effect?

I'm trying to make a glass type effect and was just wondering about how to go about getting a real nice inner glow to it. Paul Boyer's christmas time windowblind skin has a nice inner glow to it. I was just wondering if anybody can help? I can get an inner glow effect but I don't think it's right...

That looks like a combination of Inner Glow, Inner Shadow and Bevel and Emboss....

Either that, or its a seperate gradient layer drawn overtop with the transparency tweaked.

I don’t actually use Photoshop to do my graphics, I use CorelDRAW. In this case Corel 11. Most of the “Inner glow” in the Christmas time skin was done this way.

I use the Mesh fill tool to make the Objects. I fill them with a blend form a lighter color to a darker color. Then I Put a White Glare object on top, feather it out with the Interactive Transparency tool. And to top it all off, you can Pull a drop shadow off it, with the drop shadow tool, if you want it to look like it is glowing or glass, sometimes it helps if the Shadow is the Light color you have in your object.

You can do this same effect in Photoshop with Masks, or in illustrator with the Mesh tool, and the Transparency tools. I Don’t use them so I cant tell you exactly how.

I use Corel, because after I am done, all my graphics are still scaleable and editable. I am just a vector designer. But you can also do effects like this with certain filters in paint programs, they tend to look like filters, but they work.

Wow! ...although it wasn't me that asked the original question here, I thank you for this little tip mormegil.

Gonna take another look at that program ...I was mainly using it for jobs I needed to do for work. After seeing what you have managed to do here, I'm inspired to try new things with it.
