freedom of speech

be carefull what you say

i'm not a member very long but already i found out
that not everybody is ok with critic especially some admins
be carefull what you say, don't be 2 honest or your post/comment
will magically disapear !!
i haven't tried to upset anyone, just some honest critic
and *poof* gone was my post !! didn't even get an answer,
well not an honest answer 2 be specific just some excuses
how do you feel about
freedom of speech especially on the wc site !!

i understand they make the rules
but you should be able to speak your mind
almost everybody is asking for comments on
about any subject.....so when i comment i say
what i think (and yes i keep it clean)
if the admins don't like what i say it should be deleted
that is what you are saying !!
i respect their rules but i don't respect that they can not
be criticized while everybody else can !!

The reason your post was removed is because you were given the answer in it, which you saw and responded to so there was no further need for it anyway, and the post also highlights a small bug present on the site which is being worked on. Leaving the post up would allow people to exploit the bug.

Perhaps but in a proper way to conduct yourself, not someone who comes accross as some arrogant prat or know it all.

I am ok with critics at times, but personally I couldn't care what they think anymore. What I do really hate is some person that comes along and says "it sucks, fugly" and whatever nasty one line remarks they think off. They may aswell post "I like cheese" that has absoloutely sod all to do with it. Absoloutely great critism no?

If you did you wouldn't be posting some crap about "freedom of speech" which will attract any and most ignorant people who live on these kind of discussions, which in most cases turns into one hell of a nasty topic.

Oh and seriously what great standards have been set with people(s) attitude these days on how they conduct theirself online, You can really tell they have been brought up well.

You are free to post whatever you want. The admins are free to delete your post if they so desire. They are also free to exile you if you prove to be a nuisance.

There is freedom of speech here. You can say what you like providing you don't use profanity, issue personal attacks, insult other members/site officials, promote warez or indulge in any other kind of inappropriate behaviour. No-one will intefere in you saying your piece, we are moderators, not the Gestapo

This was not 'censorship', it was a site 'security' issue which came to light during bug-hunting.

Freedom of speech is very important. Unfortunately some use the microphone to spew hate and violence. Therefore Freedom to spew should be limited.

Wincustomize.com is a private site accessible to the public, and run to established acceptable rules of conduct, some of which are alleged to impinge on the perceived concept of 'free speech'.

However.

'Free Speech' is not what it appears.

It is not the right to voice publicly anything you so desire at any time you wish. Example....mention you own a 1962 beetle with the phrase 'I have a bomb', while on a plane and see what happens...

It pertains to the right/s of every individual to hold an opinion contrary to the tenets of Society and its Government, without fear of retribution.

On Wincustomize.com [as with any site] the site's Administrators determine where and when the line is drawn between 'free expression' and 'anarchy'. They are guided by the community's expectations of appropriate conduct on these forums, etc.

Wincustomize.com has 'rules' of conduct. In reality they hurt no-one, as they are nothing more than reminders of etiquette and common decency when interacting with your fellow human beings....

freedom of speach .. freedom of speach is ones ability to "peaceably" express ones views ( in public,your place of residence or worship )without repocussion from goverment officials....

it does not entitle you to walk in to someones place of buisness or home and express your views ..

once you step out side the realm of you own personal space or a public place, and enter another's private area, they have the rite to ask you to leave or shut up.. if you refuse they retain the rite to use reasonable force to remove you....

in lamens terms.... once in a private area your freedom of speach can be restricted to what the owners feel is reasonable...

also remember that not all websites are american based... so even then the freedom of speach may not apply anyways ....
