Did you disable BootSkin prior to installing SP2?

CAUSEThis problem may occur if you use the BootSkin program from Stardock Corporation. The BootSkin program changes the appearance of the Microsoft Windows XP startup screen by using a startup screen driver. This driver may not load correctly during the installation of Windows XP SP2 when the computer first restarts. If you turn off the BootSkin program before you install Windows XP SP2, you can turn the program back on after you install Windows XP SP2.RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, turn off BootSkin before you install Windows XP Service Pack 2.
