Need help creating a custom logon

I am trying to create a custom logon for logonstudio.

This is my 1st attempt. I have everything explain in this thread over at neowin.net if you could please read through it and give me suggestions.

1. Are you using LogonStudio?
2. Have you modified the logon ui or uix system files with another program?
3. I don't see a bitmap_28 in the sample logons. If you are trying to edit the user name panel, I suggest that you leave the size as it is.

I am not using logonstudio but rather a already created logn as my basis that was created by logonstudio.

Basically what I did was take an aero logon and unpack it into a directory. From there I edited bitmap_100 and replaced. That worked fine, you can see on that page the ss of the logon with the new background.

It's when I re-do bitmap_128 and then replace it that I get the parse error.

All I am doing with the bitmap_128 is re-coloring it, not changing any dimensions.

your bitmap 128 should be saved as a 32-bit bitmap image. more or less your file should have a 1.18MB size. you can not do this with ordinary bitmap editor like Paint because it only saves bitmaps to 24-bit. i suggest that when you edit your bitmap, use Adobe Photoshop because it gives you the option of saving it in a 32-bit format. i hope i helped. i had encountered the same prob myself but figured out that Photoshop does the trick of making it usable.

I have saved my bitmap as a 32bit one, it is 1.15 MB in size. But I still get that parse error when I replace it

hmmn, that it a problem.i think when you edit your bitmap to 32bit, it should work. but why the parse error?

you can try editing the uifile.


what parse error are you refering to. tell me.

It says parse error on line 40. Is there a guide out there somewhere to understanding the uifile?
