#28 by craeonics - 8/14/2004 1:01:24 PM Dude, if you can't come up with an original name, what to expect from your business then? |
Kind of has a point there... are you doing branding? If you are you 'should' be able to come up with something. No offense to Skindicate, but that sounds more "mob" style than business style. (even the tag line is leaning to that point)
Plus if many people who give you business doesn't even know what skinning is then why have the word "skin" in your name?
I wold advise looking into the pro field of marketing management (as opposed to just looking at skin sites) to get some ideas of what your specifically focusing on. What are your core business competences in? What are your core skills? What is the difference between just hiring a skin author and going for a skin company? What is the difference bewteen you and another skin company?
When you look into these things you might have a better idea of what to call yourself. The name I chose for a company that skins doesn't have 'skin' in it at all.
Are you consulting? marketing? designing? packaging? web design? brand identity, logo design?
Personally, I think you have many words to use that would be very cool and very business like. My advise is to not use the word "skin" anywhere in the name. It will trap you into "a" category and if you decide to grow you might not have much room.
(This is why it is so hard to come up with a name that you will be using.)
I hope that helps.
