........Pint, CC, and I were moving some of our new Micro-Brewery stuff down to the old "Haunted Barn" today. The 4th of July being a holiday and all we were in good "spirits" and finally decided to get serious with our beer making endeavours. The "Haunted Barn" down by the creek is an ideal place to make a barrel or two of brew. Cool even in the summer, and in Texas that's saying alot. Anyway our endeavour was cut short. Molassas and Sassafras (my hounds) stirred of a skunk and her kits. When a Mama skunk is riled she really lets go. To further the insult as they ambled off one of the kits (as a rear guard action I'm sure) turned and like a kitten does a little upward hop let go another stinker. I've taken 5 baths, 5 showers, and parfumed myself twice since this morning mishap. I evern went to the Feed Store and got a bottle of "Remove A Skunk Smell". To no avail. Anyway, we set a couple of "Catch Em Alive" traps and we'll battle the skunks again I'm sure. Seems as if Pint is immune to skunk oder and he said he'll handle the skunk family when caught. (Pint really is immune to most smells since a bottle rocket went up his nose a few years ago. The man was lucky it didn't explode, just burned his proboscis a bit. (This is true, I swear!). Anyway, we are determined to get the "Haunted Barn" back and we will get out Brew brewed. So hep me, Lord, so hep me. However, today we're just going to go down the road and get some fireworks and I'm sure when we arrive the crowd will part and give us first "crack" at the ion stand.
The battle scence took place here.............
