Little 'Fraidy Bratty Kitty
by me
I onced upon a 'kitty don't'
that purred and happy danced
he rolled he mewed he blinky eyed
he pounced and jumped and pranced
I petty pretty 'kitty don't'
he happied a bit more
then with wicked eye
and kitty cry
into my arm he tore
He lanced he slashed he scrappied
my poor arm to a shred
and so deeply were the toothy holes
they barely even bled
Of course poor kitty hurried off
worried for his crime
and crossed my mind a moment then
you'll be no 'bad kitty mine'!
At which time the crimson curtain
drained running from my hand
and I'm thinking idea to play with kitty
wasn't quite so grand
My arm swells painful red and hot
the bruises deep and sore
muscles and tendons sliced and torn
I use that arm for now no more
But still I wonder where kitty went
I worry that he's lost
I wondered how he came to here
from what car was kitty tossed
I might someday find kitty
out back in the darky wood
but I think I'll try a net next time
it might turn out better good
I don't blame little kitty
for the sorrows of my pain
I must have scared poor kitty cat
and this is mine own shame
Somehow the face of kitty's dance
is still before my eyes
I hope someday poor kitty finds
lots of butterflies
to chase and pounce and play again
to purr at happy chat
instead of turn such viscious biting
little 'fraidy bratty cat
