jowtheblow: you mention in your original post that you use FTp for your web site. I assume you mean to transfere the files from your computer to the server where your site is hosted, right?  In which case, you need a FTP client.  You would only need the FTP server if you wanted to make files on your own computer available for others to download.
Also, in the case where what you are looking for is a FTP client, what are you using to build your web site? If you use Dreamweaver, the built-in FTP client that comes with it is really good. It supports synchronizing (automatically transfers only files that have changed), cloaking (ignore certain files types or directories), and even supports version control (check-in and check-out files when working within a group to ensure nobody overwrites files in use). You can even set two different FTP servers and/or directories for the live server and the testing server.  If you already use Dreamweaver, check it out.
