Not exactly sure what you mean, but if you right-click on an empty space in the portal Fence, or right-click the portal Fence tab, you should see "View" in the context menu. Just choose the view you would like to set for the portal Fence.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, do know that Portal Fences and Fences is not the same. If you wish to have a Fences that have all those menu item for your desktop, you should create a portal fence and link it to your Desktop folder, you will than have all those menu.
