It is a best practice to save a layout manually once you have a good layout. Do know that if you uninstall and reinstall, your saved layout will still be there so I don't think your issue will resolved. What you can do is click on the "perform automatic layout" button as shown in my screenshot above. This will automatically reset all your icons into only 3 basic Fences. You can manually rearrange your icons after that.
