I have met many mean cats in my lifetime. Most of them wanted my eyes. One of my friends has a cat that if you got within 5 ft. of it would jump at you and attack. Although most cats are usually nice, fear the evil ones.

Worse case scenario is you and he will find neutral ground and be able to
co-exist in the same household

We have a young Conure (another parrot thingy) 'Captain Morgan'. He stays in a cage next to my computer. We have three dogs Real birds, not those little budgies and finches, are great. Conure's don't talk as well or as clearly as other parrots, but he barks with the dogs when a car pulls in the dooryard and he tells them to stop it, stop barking when there is no reason for them to be barking. I really would love to have him out of the cage, but he's just to tempting a morsel for the dogs.

Oh yeah.... she's called NumNum... after Peter Sellers coined the phrase in that silly movie...

"Birdie numnum" Birdie numnum"

and btw, a good example of hijacking a thread... sorry for that, continue with the cat stuff

At our house we have a "show dog"(german shepherd)a "court jester"(boarder collie/german sherpherd mix)and a "fat cat" tabby and they all get along great! When it comes to feeding time, Mits(cat)will come over to me and give me a little friendly reminder..........a little nibble on the ankle or a swat(with her paw)on the leg. If you ignore her she will tear up the house! They have their own personalities......some good and some bad

Well eventually "Joey" will need a TLC home with someone but for now he`s doing fine....Thanks for the overwhelming responce guys.....The community is obviously real pet lovers...

Just fed "Joey"...I crawl under the bed where he has chosen to hide himself, gently take him out and feed him (funny thing is) he won`t eat unless I stroke him ?...And now he`s used to the underthebedpullout thing and asumes that when this happens its food time, how funny...

The golden globe award must be when |I get him to purr...Several months away I would ashume.

Favourite niece was married yesterday (Saturday) at 1530 Melbourne time.
Now that is not a time I'm at my best .... and to add insult to injury I really do not have much time for her chosen one! >
So I've been dragged awake, forced to wear a suit and Ackkk!!! a tie .... converse with a group of people I (A) don't know but who apparantly know me and ( are far too bright and chirpy for my frame of mind.
Then I end up standing in the sun while a 'celebrant' drones through a series of platitudes that have a cynical overtone in these days of 6 month marriages followed by divorce proceedings.
And just when I'm getting into the swing of things at the reception ( I bottle of Yellowglen Champers and another of Jacobs Creek CabSav sure gives one a lift) it all falls over and everyone decides to head home .... including the spunky blonde who's more or less wearing something black and filmy and dancing in a very 'friendly' way ....
Considering it's now 0355 on Sunday I figure I might be excused a small bunder .... "Pete Semetary" .... must one of them Pig Farming Hillbillies featured in "Deliverance"!

I have a cat that is about almost 16. I can only guess about her age since she was a stray that my family took in almost 15 years ago. I have been worried about my cat lately. She has had a urinary tract infection that doesn't seem to go away completely. We have her on antibiotics which seem to help her a lot. She has had urinary tract infections two other times in the past, but they usually went away after 10 days of antibiotics. This time she seemed to be better after 10 days of pills, then she got sick again. Now we have her on two weeks of pills. We have had tests done on her to make sure her kidneys are okay and stuff. The only other possible problem she could have that could be a cause of her infections is an infected uterus. We would need to have an x-ray taken to find out if she has that. I think we will get an x-ray taken if she still doesn't seem to be cured after 3 weeks of antibiotics. The only way to fix an infected uterus is to have an operation done. I feel she is too old to have to go through an operation. If it turns out that she has something that can only be fixed by having an operation, we might have to put her to sleep.
