Fences have gotten totally emptied with icons going on desktop. Over the last 18 months or so it has happened twice during reboots. Windows gets started and the fences are empty with icons all over the desktop. Now I have to try to remember where the icons belong and rebuild all the fences. This is fences 5 upgraded from 4 couple of weeks ago. The previous occurrence was on v4. This is in Windows 11 Pro 23H2 x64 with lots of disk space and oodles of memory. There are 22 fences averaging about 10 icons each.
Is there a way to backup and restore the fences? I see where there maybe ways to copy out some parts of the registry, but they are on older versions of Fences. Is there an actual procedure to backup fences layouts. How can Fences get backed up and how would they be restored?
I'll be working on trying to rebuild these fences, but I'll not get it totally right. I have Fences being used on about 5 PC's but the PC that is used the most is the only one being messed up. It is also the very much most heavily used PC.
Fences is great, but I need to know how to backup + restore when it goes wrong.
Thanks,
Brent
