Groupy2 is changing the WindowStyle of the Visual Studio 2022 main window

Groupy2 is changing the WindowStyle of the Visual Studio 2022 main window from None to SingleBorderWindow which is causing rendering issues on its borders.

Is there a way to prevent Groupy2 from doing this?

The problem started in v2.15. I reinstalled v2.12 and everything looks fine.

I worked with Microsoft on debugging this issue. I gave you the technical finding in my original post. Visual Studio 2022's main window's style is being changed by Groupy2 from None to SingleBorderWindow which is causing border rendering issues.

We will look into it as Groupy should never be changing the window style like that. There is a possibility that something Groupy is doing is causing VS2022 to do it itself too of course.

Did Microsoft actually give you useful information, or just noted that if you stopped using Groupy it stopped happening?

Also is VS2022 being grouped?

Microsoft had me create a memory dump and saw that the window had its style changed - which should not happen. They have a custom window shell which requires that the window style be set to none.

They asked me to review any extensions or utilities I have running. When I disabled Groupy2, then problem went away. I reinstalled Groupy2 v2.12 and everything was working fine again. So some change in v2.15 is causing the issue.

Yes, Visual Studio 2022 can be grouped. I sometimes have multiple instances grouped together.
