If all you want is photographs of boats on an island....would you like some from the next as yet unseen Survivor? [at least it 'may' be topical]
Photographs will very rarely be accepted....otherwise we WILL end up akin to Devart.....with photos of Spot being considered somewhere between Rembrant and a wallpaper...
I always thought of Devart as a sociology experiment....someone doing his masters degree....and needing an experimental microcosm.
That would definitely justify the 'odd' occurrences such as the 'Jews' worst nightmare' fascist symbolism...and the pre-teen undressing girl as topicality for discussion of child porn [or not], and the 'quaint' perception of 'free speech' and its sovereign rights above all else.
Sometimes there was the distinct feeling you were being studied like a bug under glass...
deviantART is one of my favorite sites and I consider Jark to be one of my closest "net friends".
deviantART isn't a skin site in the same sense that WinCustomize. It's an art site but more to the point, it's a cultural center where people can get together and talk and interact in ways that are amazing and excellent.

sorry....your copy-paste of my comment was a little un-selective and included the page, wrecking the thread layout...so both had to be removed.
Could you post again...a wee bit more carefully?...
The word of importance is 'rarely'.
Some photographs do make it past moderation, but not all....just as some Generated landscapes will...but not all..some reflective, glassy floating balls of Bryce....but definitely not all....
Since the advent of digital cameras it has become within the capacity of any and every shutterbug to have a simple facility to create/submit digital images....not even needing emulsion development, scanning, etc as was the past. Needless to say literally every man and his dog and their fleas could submit photographs ad nauseum unless there was some form of checks and balances.
Yours was a nice photo...particularly if you liked beaches and boats...but can mean a lot more to the photographer [holiday snap] than to his audience, meaning it's less likely to become someone else's wall, where the picture-taker may have a greater affinity for it...
