I have a problem with Word that appears to be rare, and I have very little software installed on my machine apart from Microsoft Office, iTunes and Start11. I'm looking at whether Start11 could be the cause, having eliminated everything else I can think of.
This is the symptom:
When I mouse over icons in Word, sometimes the wrong icons appear. When I'm typing, text disappears or bits of other windows appear on screen on top of Word until I press a key.
This was caused I think by the Win11 22H2 update which was forced on me by Microsoft and I can't reverse (thanks, guys!). I have tried lots of things (reinstalling Windows, reinstalling Office, going 32 bit for Office, setting up a new user account, changing the cables, changing the device power source, turning off hardware graphics acceleration, installing updates, updating graphics and device drivers).
I have also tried uninstalling Start11, but that doesn't appear to remove the settings it set up. Uninstalling Start11 didn't restore the Windows 11 task bar.
Could I ask:
- Has anyone else experienced similar glitches using Word and Outlook (which uses Word as its editor), when using Start11?
- Is it possible to do a full uninstall of Start11, including restoring Windows 11 to its original taskbar and start menu settings?
Thanks for any pointers. Start11 is a great and much needed product, but there's some rare combination of software on my machine that is rendering it very hard to use.
