Since you are taking suggestions, then I would like to describe the improvements to make it function like windows 10.
1. Show recently installed apps
- Display the last nine (3x3)
- If more than nine were installed in the last 24 hours, show a "View More" button which unhides nine more items until all have been exposed.
2. Show recently used apps
- Display the last nine (3x3)
- If more than nine were used in last 7 days, show a "View More" button which unhides nine more items until all have been exposed.
Now, by isolating these two groups, you can add some very cool new functionality to the start page.
1. Allow user to add a group to the start page that displays the same set of items for the recently installed apps.
- User should be able to set a default size for the icons and be able to remove items from the list.
- User should be able to specify a color for the group header background and the group header text. The group header background color should be applied as the background of the group at 30% (default) opacity.
2. Allow user to add a group to the start page that displays the same set of items for the recently used apps.
- User should be able to set a default size for the icons and be able to remove items from the list.
- User should be able to specify a color for the group header background and the group header text. The group header background color should be applied as the background of the group at 30% (default) opacity.
For these last two, if you make them work just like live folders in Fences then I would be eternally grateful!
One last request: Allow a folder in the start menu, such as the "Pengwin Applications" or "Windows Accessories", to be used as an start menu group.
