When I create a shortcut it doesn't show up on the Desktop. For clarity and to be sure I'm using understandable terminology, "create the shortcut" means right-clicking the folder or file in Windows File Explorer and choosing "create a shortcut" from the drop-down list. To confirm that it does or doesn't "show up on the Desktop", I view the desktop by clicking the Windows Start button+D. I also view in File Explorer the "file" at C:\Users\pwric\Desktop.
I have many shortcut on the desktop, so it's possible--probable even--that I simply don't spot the new shortcut. (Although, wouldn't it be listed in the Desktop "file"?) So, I'm asking whether there is a way to predict where a new shortcut will be created?
I've been using Fences for several years and I've probably created many new shortcuts, so it's puzzling why I would encounter a problem now.
Thanks for your help,
