no problem with dx2 and photoshop, but lately dx2 has been occasionally sucking upwards of 250 megs of ram before i had to restart it. I usually turn off objectdock and desktopx before using photoshop. Photoshop is a real memory hog.

I have found that ObjectDock interferes with ps7, making it load very slowly and respond slowly during use. If I quit ObjectDock whilst using Photoshop it returns to normal. DX doesn't seem to affect ps7 for me at all.

I haven't noticed OD affecting any other programs significantly.

If DX has all these problems why bother using it?

I said that to cover my but so I would not get flamed with that exact question Hus.

IMHO if any of my programs took that much RAM to run I would get rid of it until they fixed it so it works with less then 50 megs of RAM.

Kona.......DX has come a long way since you most probably last used it.

From a standing start i am running 6 of the Xmas goodies including the revolving snowflakes with a max CPU usage of about 25%-30% on an AMD XP2400 chip. There are some non DX background programmes as well which are included in this figure. I thought these 6 objects would thrash my CPU and RAM but they do not. They do not interfere with any other programmes and when starting any program there is very little time delay. BTW i only have 512mb of RAM.

I think you recently acquired another machine - why not give DX2 a try. I think you might be pleasantly surprised.

My Object Dock is only sucking down 3 megs right now.

Maybe it is just my settings I use with Object Dock. Always on bottom, no mouseover, no animations.

It never uses more than 5 megs of memory.

DX just crashed my computer (again)
