And with the copyright protection on DVD movies they are hard to copy.
So really what benefit decides the ability to save 4+ Gigabytes of info on a CD does a DVD burner have? |
At least TRY to educate youself before you post.

I have made backups of my DVDs in about 30 minutes and about 10 mouse clicks. If that's "hard", then I guess you're correct. Maybe he wants to author DVD's you can't really do that well (if at all) with a set-top box. If you've got a digital cam, why "play" it and "record" on a set-top box when you can just fire-wire the data to your computer and mix/match/effects/menus/burn? Try and find a set-top box for anywhere near the price of DVD-RW drive. Let's see...a drive is faster, cheaper, and much more powerful, but it's also a waste of money...I get it now.
