Hi! As some have discovered, like RedNeckDude, Windows 10 & 11 now 'support' DesktopX. I've been a fan of this program for years but I have a new use for it.
There is a new style of AR glasses out now and we now have the ability to place our Windows Desktop into them.
Because of the OLED screens, black is transparent. So, by using a black wallpaper, we can see thru our desktops, to see the real world, including other computer screens. Very cool.
So we need "HUD" information! I just created a digital date/clock that enables me to have just the time and date displayed in my glasses by giving it a black background. Very handy!
Ask yourself, if you could see anything from your computer in your glasses, what would you like to see? Then make the background black or transparent.
I really think that DesktopX has the potential to seriously improve our experience with this new tech, is anyone up to trying?
TCL and Rokid have products in the works (release this year), Viture is just coming out of kickstarter and is shipping and Nreal has been doing this for a couple of years. I do recommend the Nreal Airs. NuEyes has a pair as well, but they are not doing any kind of advertising, they specialize in improving vision and are not equipped to deal with these glasses as we are using them.
Let me know if you have any questions or check out the Nreal Reddit. If you are not familiar with the tech, you should check them out regardless of your opinion of DesktopX.
