Well...the English are the favourites....but the Aussies are the defending World Champions...though the former seem to think we got rid of the greater threat [to them] by ousting the Kiwis.

Seems they think they can't beat the defeated, but they can beat the defeater...[whacko logic, there]....

It seems strange to me to boast about being good at a sport in which a group of men regularly grab each others groins...


from the above we non-rugby rats always assumed that the game term "scrum" was just a contraction of scrotum. all the lads lean in and kick & flail wildly at each others midsections until someone accidentally disturbs the ball. a rulebook would be helpful to us. ( there are rules, right?)

Ah...but Rugby players don't hide behind body armour and helmets.....those are for kids and GridIron....

the padding only increases injuries - you can hit a stationary bloke hard enough to break his bones and feel little of the customary stinging pain yourself.

do the aussies still play that fast moving "footie"? that's a fun game to watch.

Tonight is the play-off for third place....the Froggies vs the Kiwis.

Should be fun, provided the French don't send in some secret service frogmen to plant a bomb....

I wonder if the Kiwis remember that fondly....or is it an incentive to flog ten shades of crap outa them....all in the name of good sportmanship....

Saturday is the final.....and that'll be an all-in, do-or-die battle that'll be full of hurt....

A case of the World's best vs the World Champions......expect a lot of walking wounded.....but may the better team win...

Jofo, I think the intensity of the "Harka" may set the stage. Although very intimidating at the best of times, there may be a little more venom in it tonight. If they come 4th they may as well seek Aust. Citizenship.

Ande.....the French failed dismally...so the Kiwis will be fairly safe going home...

Kona....for the US to win they'd have to change the rules....as they did with the America's cup....[even changing the name of the contest]...

Must really upset the Aussies. Not loosing (ahem), but realizing we don't give a toss about this Eng v Aus rivalry they're always on about and that in fact all we care about is stuffing the French
