This is a brief eductional article intended to shed some light on that strange and wonderful place, Scotland. Any humor, or "humour" in purely unintentional.
Scotland, along with England, Wales and Northern Ireland, forms the United Kingdom. Scotland is best known for its historic castles, rich traditions and for men who wear skirts. I mean kilts, yeah, kilts.
Scotland's chief contributions to the civilized world, uh I mean the rest of the civilized world, are knowledge-based industries, eating the parts of sheep that no one else wants and creating great skins. Voodoo_Freak, Honz12 and whats-his-name, the guy that made Hellfire (yeah, Hippy, thats the one) are examples of Scotland's great skinners.
Skinning began in Scotland when the barbaric inhabitants painted their bodies with woad. Please see the Woad Ode at http://www.frivolity.com/teatime/Songs_and_Poems/woad_ode.html for further details. This was a tradition that lasted from ancient times until about two years ago, when they discovered WindowBlinds.
It is a well-documented fact that the Scots are a fierce people. In 1010, the Scots under King King Malcolm the 2nd defeated a Viking army at Mortlach, with King Malcolm strangling the Viking General. See http://viking.no/e/info-sheets/scotland/mortlach.htm. I encourage users to bear this event in mind when commenting on Hippy's skins. The Vikings remained determined to conquer Scotland, until they learned that this would mean eating haggis and listening to bagpipes. At that point Eric the Red said, "Tell me about this Iceland again."
William Wallace of Elerslie, is regarded by many as Scotland's greatest hero. A soldier and skinner (see notes about woad above) his homepage is at http://www.highlanderweb.co.uk/wallace/index.html. He would have skinned for WindowBlinds had the Stardock store been available. Denied of this outlet for his natural talents, he had no choice but to wage war against the British. Finally, WindowBlinds and SkinStudio were released and the Scottish had other outlets.
It is an undocumented and little-known fact, but today's modern Scots descend from the Lost Tribes of Israel. This can clearly be seen from the fact that both peoples say "Oy" and "Ch" a lot.
Thank you for your time and I hope that no one believes a single word!
