I bought this program because I misunderstood the way the word "screensaver" was being used in the description.
There's a screensaver, starfield-1.0, that is the best starfield simulator I've ever found. It works with multiple monitors and deforms the star particles in perspective, so they stretch as they reach the edges of the monitor group.
The stars can be made very slow, which is want I want in a starfield, and the simulation does not loop. The DeskScapes particle animations can't rival it, and even if they could, they would be in a static loop.
There used to be a utility called AnimatedDesktop that allowed you to set screensavers as wallpaper in Vista and Win7. A mod was made for Windows 10 but the exe seems to be checking the wrong Windows directory for the 'screensav' config.
This is an extremely niche ask, but I wish I could set Windows screensavers as my wallpaper. Even just plain old Mystify would make a fantastic wallpaper, or flying toasters.
