First, I have a wide color gamut monitor, which is capable of displaying around 98% of P3 color space. Images set as desktop backgrounds in Windows are away oversaturated. Recently I discover that this app is the only possible way to apply any picture of my gigantic collection of static images (wallpapers) to the windows desktop in their full quality (without the standard image compression witch Windows 10/11 apply to every image after is set them as desktop background from the context menu of Windows Explorer). I’m talking about images with resolution above 4k and file sizes from 30 MB to about 50-60. Evry single of these images are always shrunked and transformed to a file named “TranscodedWallpaper” in C:\Users\......\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes folder. There is no possible way to bypass this limitation of Windows. In addition to this every image above 20-25MB broke the desktop wallpaper and apply blank black color. DeskScapes has excellent ability to add folders of static images to its interface and the organization of my images is very good. But the only think that is not perfect is that the applied image is not respecting my current monitor color profile (ICC Profile) and even the image is applied in perfect quality, is oversaturated. So, this is my suggestion.

Sorry to hear you are having issues.
Maybe this can help some for images and animations .
In DeskScapes app you can play with the Colors/Saturation in Effects tab .. to tone it down ..
