Don't get me wrong, I also believe there could be a place for interacting between those who are extreamly and just starting out including everyone in between those two point.

My point is this;

I am wanting my work posted in the libraries at Wincustomize, for whatever reason it is not happening. So in order to at least get them posted and stored on the site I decide I will upload what I consider is something I would submit as finished work, but I do not submit it. Instead I post it in a thread in the general message board, even if I do take a part in working through what changes would help and attempt to seek help in expanding my skill set. I have in fact gone right past the process of Moderation and my work is now posted and stored at Wincustomize.

That is how the process of moderation is throw out the window. It becomes meaningless and moot to consider any valitidy (moderation) if I am happy with just getting my work on the site.

Again, DeviantArt does not have moderation and fits the needs for aspiring Wall Artists where the policies of WinCustomize would end up being subverted in attempting to provide such a forum.

Unless of course there is a section put together to deal with this model of mentoring, or whatever you wish to call it.

Simply put, it's a loop hole the size of the Grand Canyon if it is allowed to continue with full size Walls being posted in threads.

A Desktop Screen Shot or a Thumb Nail would serve the same purpose as the full size image and it would also be more acceptable because of it, without steping all over the policy of moderation.

I would think that with the last few months of constant bickering and contention over the Wall section and Moderation people would understand that if the Message Board becomes a dumping ground for 1 - 3 or more meg walls and it *really* ends up becoming an issue.

It could very well be the proverbial straw which should not have made it upon the Camels back.

I for one would hate to see that...

IPlural, I understand what you mean. But....when a wall is rejected people are urged to contact the moderator to improve or get criticism. Is that how this site works? Moderators know it all? No. They decide what gets approved. Lately I have seen so many click on my name threads to show theirs/hers current desktop. It would be a great idea to use this as a what do you think how to improve click thread and get some good constructive criticism, rather than the hahahaha you are not good enough response. > This is a community, well that's what is said here, but then try to be humble towards the newcomers and HELP them. And for "it should be in the skinning discussion page", I am sure people read this thread and will post in the skinning discussion page. Besides, I think it will become more popular if we are able to comment and help people with their work.

Kona, I told you before that I am not picking on you.  I disagree with you.  You need to learn what the difference is.  I don't agree with 99% of what you say.  So, I disagree.  You need to grow a thicker skin if you truly believe that everyone is against you, or you need to step back and figure out why you feel that way.

Then, why don't you contribute to the site?  You have spoke up many times about the "wrongs" of the site, but all you have done is talk.  You have not submitted anything, nor purchased anything.  (That is why you are at level 2 and a citizen).  (BTW, you misspelled Stardock)

I thought the WC Skinning messageboard was specifically for discussions about skinning and asking for help and getting assistance from other skinners. Wasn't that the entire point of setting up a skinning messageboard?

I recall (was it?) Madice's thread and then later the creation of the Help and Skinning messageboards which aren't getting used as much as they should because people continue to post such issues here in the "general talk about nothing, everything or just silly stuff and other OT discussions" messageboard.

And frankly, now that I've seen the works in question (I only could see red x's before for some reason) I simply cannot believe all this talk of Van Gogh, Matisse, Monet or whoever and "REAL graphic designers and artists," etc when all I'm looking at is a Big Pumpkin! Good Golly Miss Molly.

Right off the top of my head one person who I think might credibly be able to conduct a reasonable discussion about Art and those Impressionable fellows would probably be Lecrayon. (No slight to others and not that others couldn't but from the work I've seen I think something like Lecrayon's Fall wallpaper might do well as a print or painting in a museum or gallery at least IMO). And at least he certainly wouldn't be inviting implicit comparisons with those "REAL Artists" with just a freakin giant pumpkin and some dizzy spermatodes to his credit. Sheeeeesh!

They should be in the 'Help' board or maybe the 'Skinning' board.....as that is their intention....and the image/s SHOULD be linked or at best limited to preview size.....in order that they are not technically being distributed by the Wincustomize site itself....

WOW... I was at school yesterday and today and you guys went off the hizzy... I am sorry Iplural but I made sure I read everything you wrote and I have to disagree. Deviantart is not a comunity, it is a metropolis lost in its self right now. They are actually trying to work on fixing that, so I am told.

The fact is this. My pics I "link" here take 0 space and if the post dies then so does the exsistance of my picture. Meaning if 10 people say you need to work on this and that, then hey guess what, I am not going to submit it and I am going to work on this and that. If 10 people say wow you made some real improvements and that is worty of submiting then hey, I am going to submit. I do agree that I should not post the full version, which this time I didn't I posted a 650width image that "NOBODY" can use for a wallpaper. <<<, you can't even use it as a wallpaper.

All in all this is a webcommunity and for the few days I have been here, A DAMN good one at that. But I do have to say it kind of sounds like you worried about your moderation responsibilities perhaps going away, and I am saying that no matter how popular this process ever becomes, your job as a mod is still safe. And I know that untill my work gets good enough to submit and approved by professional "moderators" then I will continue to try.

If all your doing is telling me to go over to deviant art and submit my stuff there and wait for a response, (which you can't because your one in a billion) then why would I even try to submit anything here? or come to this site?

Food for thought but in this case, I think the community way is the best way.
