Start10 and button mistype

Hello, I've been using Start10 since I migrated to Win10 this year and all round has been a positive experience (clearly NOT with M$'s OS). Done many tweaks to the registry to get rid of nonsense like web search on the start menu and many dumb functions and then added Start10 to the mix so I can finally get back Win7 menu button and style. However, there are two things than concern me:

1. When I open the Start menu and start typing on the keyboard, the research bar always misses the first character I typed. And happens every time. This condition stops whenever I open the Start10 application and make any change to it and doesn't seems to occur anymore as long as I don't restart my computer

2. IF I changed the Start Icon to one of my liking - other than the ones included by Start10 - instead of a missed hit from the keyboard, the first letter I type is recognized as a number from 0 to 9. This condition stops whenever I change the Start icon again, or even if I choose again the same icon from the drop-down menu.

Is there any solution out there? Perhaps a registry tweak? I already tryied to reinstall Start10 with no changes.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

Windows version, please use Winver.exe to get Windows full version numbers.
Start10 versions.
Start10 setting on using Cortana or not.

It sounds like you have set Start10 to use Cortana for search rather than the integrated search?

Version is 20H2 - OS build 19042.867, Cortana was disabled via WDP (+ a registry change to prevent explorer from using Bing) prior installing Start10 . And here is one big realization that just hit me; all this time I've been using a "low-key Cortana" meaning that either Start10 was installed or not, what Windows visually recalls for me to search with was, visually, a Cortana-style window.

So, after Start10 was installed, and its own searchbar setting was left un-ticked, I got the buggy research issue. I didn't realize it was there, and just kept using it the same way as usual. BUT if I enable the setting that replaces the Start10's searchbar, I get the mini-version of Cortana or rather explorer, just integrated in the Start menu that also works flawlessly! SO, this option works in the opposite way for me but actually fixes the issue.

My apologies in advance if the description (and me not behing able to change language to ENG) is a bit confusing. Guess 2 images for the sake of documentating it will explain way better than me this weird issue:
