I have the same problem with Deskscapes saying it needs a suitable MPEG2 codec for some of my downloaded Deskscapes. Some worked before switching to Windows 10 from 7. I have followed the advice in different queries posted here as well as the FAQ's. I ask for help now because I just can't stand the "can't play..." dialogs any more. I have been to the Microsoft store to DL the MPEG2 code and then used the "install now" button but that does not Make Deskscapes work.
I have had all the wonderful software products from Object Desktop, especially WindowBlinds, for over 2 decades. I love this stuff. I find the problem with Deskscapes intolerable. I always expected an Update would fix it.
I know about K-Lite codecs and have used them on previous PC's but, I was hoping not to have to use it on Windows 10. At this point in time I am unsure if they are safe. Only because I do not know if they have been updated over the years. Installing antique codecs just doesn't seem wise.
Could someone please help me?
