CursorFX has huge overhead

Has anyone else noticed how much of a resource hog this software has? I'm using an overclocked Ryzen 3 3900x, and I'd suffer intolerable pauses for items like Outlook, File Explorer, etc. This may well be a conflict with BOINC. I've never had issue before, and turning down resources available to BOINC never seemed to make a difference unless I completely disabled it.

Barring success with any other approaches, I ended up uninstalling and am back to normal. Such a shame; I really loved the animations and the way the cursor would always stand out.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Few option to check and try.

Did you install CursorFX in its default directory? Did you change it to somewhere else when installing?
Do you experience same issue if you using those not so heavy animated cursors that come along with CursorFX such as Abracadabra?
Please try CursorFX config windows->Settings->Shadow tab-> Tick the disable box. And test it.

And also need to know some information on your system.

Windows version. Please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.
CursorFX version.
Monitor/s resolutions and scaling applies (100%,125% etc) on each monitors.
