I was downloading backgrounds for Deskscapes when I ran into a problem. I have no idea how this happened.  Some of these downloads would not play on the desktop and the preview thumbnail would go black. When I tried to switch to backgrounds that used to work, these would no longer work either.  I tried to delete the problem wallpapers, but the ones I tried switching to before still won't work and trying to switch to any others will not work. I have to close Deskscapes, set a static wallpaper, and reopen Desckscapes for anything to work. I also have avoid the backgrounds that the problem backgrounds broke.

Along the way it seems the downloads broke my computer somehow, because now it will not play any video files except for avi files in any video player even outside of Deskscapes. This is a separate issue from the mpeg2 decoder which I had installed. I uninstalled it but it didn't resolve the issue. Could Deskscapes have caused this problem? I thought I could uninstall and reinstall Deskscapes. Would that resolve the issue with my backgrounds or computer?
