Start menu not being created

I installed Start10 and it wiped out what did have of a start menu and left nothing but stick icons and a dozen Win10 tiles. I got the task bar

textures and Start button changed, no problem. I read through the forum and make changes to the menu as mentioned but still unable to get the main menu working. I can type the WIN key and it brings up the menu. Here is my system and the settings I tried.

Windows 10 Pro 64bit, v1903, Build 18362.720.
Settings I tried:
Tablet mode is "Off"
Start button shows Start10 menu
Windows key shows Start10 menu
Windows key shows Start10 unless in tablet mode
Start10 Service is set to "Start" & "Auto Start"

What did I miss??

In my original post I did note, [Tablet mode is "Off"]! One of the suggestions I gleaned from your forum.

I Googled and found several other suggestions that didn't work and spent some more time making sure everything was up to date, and it was. Almost new build and install. Ran SFC, & DISM and the system was 100%. I tried not to do anything that would move or delete any files on the system. In a last ditch effort I went to the day before and initiated a system restore. Got lucky, everything restored back to the way it was before the install.

While I was investigating on how to fix my problem I found a freeware and installed it without any problems and it did what I wanted, Win7 look is back.

Can't believe Start10 would crash an almost new system to the point of a system restore.

Sorry for overlooking that tablet mode is off part. My bad. If you still wish to troubleshoot the issue. I need more information on your system.

1) More information on your CPU and GPU.

2) A screenshot on video grab on what you are seeing that might help us understand more on the issue.

Start10 is very unlikely to have been the cause. It does not alter the os menu itself in anyway. Upon uninstall your computer would be back to exactly how it was before.

I suspect you had a corrupted file somewhere which showed up on a reboot.
