DeskScapes reverts to normal photo background

I just installed DeskScapes 10 yesterday.  It all works fine except that it randomly reverts back to a background from my "pictures" folder for no apparent reason.  Interestingly, when I look at the registry key for the background, it hasn't changed:

 Wallpaper    REG_SZ    C:\Users\norm\AppData\Local\stardock\deskwall.bmp

What is actually showing, however, is a picture selected at random from my pictures library.

Is this some sort of conflict with Windows?  I don't have screen saver turned on in Windows and am just using DeskScapes for the background.

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

What version of Windows are you running ( Full Version )

use winver.exe for full version.

Reboot and Re Install the latest version  from your account https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products/

Reboot test and report back please.

OK, I purged the current version (which was only downloaded yesterday).  Just to be sure, I downloaded it again (it was the same version, as it turns out) and then rebooted.  Then I reinstalled it.  No joy.  It's still doing the same thing.

Would you Please do a Clean Boot: https://forums.stardock.com/485954/deskscapes-support-faq#cleanboot

this will show if the issue is DeskScapes or a 3rd party software causing your issue .

With DeskScapes only running is there still an issue ?

Also you might have Security or AV software causing an issue try shutting down and test.

Report back after trying those steps info we need to know to help .

I've determined that this is a win 10 problem and not a DeskScapes problem.  I completely uninstalled DeskScapes, went back to the Win 10 background, and the same thing happened there.  It reverted to using photos from the pictures library.  Since DeskScapes is completely uninstalled, it can't be related to it.  I'll see what I can find out about fixing it in Windows and when I've fixed it there, I'll reinstall DeskScapes to see if it works better.

I also encountered a similar problem. I have DeskScapes 10 installed. The crux of the problem was that the app couldn't see the folder where I was dropping all the photos in. I thought something was wrong with my Windows, but it was solved by simply reinstalling the program. By the way, where do you get the new wallpaper for your desktop? It took me a long time to find a site with good selections to avoid strain myself by searching on the Internet. One day a friend of mine sent me an article that lists apps and sites with pictures https://backlightblog.com/photo-sharing-websites-apps. I think it is much better to have an application with wallpaper at hand than to be forever looking for something new to change, at least something on your desktop.
