We even have that Leo object going internally on DesktopX. And I suspect it's a LOT easier to do stuff like that with DesktopX. Konfabulator is a nice program but feature to feature, it isn't up to DesktopX 2's level.
What Konfabulator does have going for it is polish. Arlo (the developer of it) is one of the best developers/designers out there. He knows how to write software AND knows how to create very slick content for it. This is an area we're very weak at.
There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that Konfabulator can do that DesktopX cannot do. And in most cases, it's easier to do on DesktopX.
The question then arrises, how do we get people to make "Stuff" for DesktopX? I personally demoed DesktopX on The Screen Savers last year with Leo. But the problem is that it all gets mushed together as Object Desktop. Perhaps I should focus on each component on its own.
Hopefully there are some cool objects for DesktopX in the works. There's a PC version of Konfabulator in the works, it would be ironic if a Macintosh program took over the GUI "widgets" arena.

It would certainly demonstrate a failing in our marketing -- DesktopX, technologically, is far ahead of Konfabulator. But can Stardock build support for it?
