In File Explorer, the new tab icon creates a new window

In File Explorer, the new tab icon - the icon that shows a '+' sign - creates a new *window*. I've installed Group only just now but I have - twice - closed all Explorer windows; yet, the problem persists.

I'd be grateful if someone could advise.

Windows 10 Pro x64 1903.

Actually, I think I'll remove Groupy and just use an alternative file manager. For, the way Groupy integrates - aggressively and seemingly buggily - into Windows will just cause trouble, I expect.
