Somewhat advanced ObjectDock help/question ??

I want to have a dock shortcun to the Run window. So, to bring it to the dock, I clciked n' dragged the Run menu from the start panel and it made a shortcut on the dock. This does not work though.

This is the shortcut it makes:

::{2559A1F3-21D7-11D4-BDAF-00C04F60B9F0}

---

When you click the shortcut it says 'This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options...'

This argument is correct, because if you make a dock icon to the control panel, the shortcut will be '::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\::{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}' which works fine. Anyone know how to get the run menu working??

Hmm. The link seems ok, yet it doesn't recognize what it's supposed to do? That's a wierd one. The link is just like the Control Panel one, and the My Computer, My Documents, Network Neighborhood, Search, etc. Maybe something with the arguments?

I have found something that will work for the Run command in ObjectDock, courtesy of Marvilla at Design Technika http://www.designtechnika.com/main/

by Marvilla:

" 1) Open up your 'Start' menu. Find the Run Icon on the right hand side.

2) Open up Explorer and drag the Run icon from your start menu to any folder....for example the root of C:\
This will create a shortcut named C:\&Run... (or something similar)

3) Now right-click and rename that &Run... shortcut to just: Run

4) Drag any other .exe or link to Y's dock...right-click 'Property' and in the 'link to' and 'Work Folders' place the link to the Run shortcut (on my box this is C:\Run

Works on my box..hope that works for you guys :biggrin: "
