I am having trouble finding the correct place to tap
Remember, you are not tapping on the normal viewable space on a touchscreen / tablet - you are touching (perhaps with more finger pad than tip) the black area just off it.
If you need more practice, clicking in the upper part of the TouchTasks admin UI will expose the zones:
And the tutorial is always available with the ? in the lower left of that UI.
