I'm somewhat dismayed by all the posts about not being able to group. My issue is just the opposite. Every single window for every application opens with the Groupy header (plus sign & three vertical dots), including explorer.exe windows that I have Automatically exclude from auto grouping all 'explorer.exe' windows. In fact, if I have such an explorer.exe window open and merely drag it across another app's window or drag another apps window across it, going nowhere near the top menu bar grouping error it will often (but not always, entirely random), it will spontaneously group. Since there appears to be no way to remove one window from a group without shutting down the entire group and rebuilding it, at the end of the day, I will have lots of apps with multiple instances open because I'll need to have the ability to move a single window of the app to a specific location, it keeps grouping. How do I stop windows from grouping without uninstalling Groupy? How do I split off one window from a group?
I like the fact that, in Groupy, I can save my group. Windows 10's ability to create desktops is totally worthless because you have to recreate each desktop anew every reboot. Groupy does that better, but its implementation is still clunky. Every time you click Save group, you always get a saved group So if I create a saved group and then later realize that I forget to include a window in it, there's no way to edit the group. I have to add the window that I need, save the group thus create and entirely new group, then go back to delete the original saved group. Way too many steps! How can I edit an existing group? And keep editing and saving the original group just like virtually every other Windows application?
It sure would be great if I could find, by Properties or some other mechanism, what windows are contained in a saved group. How can I do that?
I'm a web developer, and Groupy is a godsend! No doubt, it still needs a lot of development. I do hope that Stardock will continue that work!
