I just got me a new toy! I love it!

I just bought me a Dell Laptop. One of the old Pentium 166 mhz with windows 98 models. But The seller included a docking station and more memory and a working battery. It is a Lattitude. I love the little thing!

I have a new toy too. I have a Compaq comp with Wins XPeeeeeeeeeeeee! Finally, I have WinBlinds 4. It is smoooooooooooooth & fun to use.

All truth be tol i love macs but windows machines are cheater to buy, use, sell, and upgrade.
BTW any programs from stardock work on 98/me?

Maybe you could try Mandrake on it. I hear Mandrake has the best support for laptops.

Mandrake or Susie, both would scream on that cpu, mem and hd...

also there should be drivers for the hardware without a problem on linux sites.

I also have an old Acer 366 MHz /128 MB Notebook here with W98SE installed I play with from time to time. Actually it was build from 3 partly damaged notebooks I bought for nearly nothing.

yeah....like almost all of them

WB 4.0 does not.

logonstudio does not

CursorXP does not.

Everything in Object Desktop and Drengin do.

Don't use ME, though, unless you really want to cry....that is one *terrible* OS!

I don't think we have to keep it positive. You put this in a public forum and thus if Hoppity wanted to say, "That notebook is a piece of junk" it is his right to do so. However, I concur what he said could have been said better.

You would be surprised what you could squeeze out of a P 166... Also if the unit gets trashed or stolen in your travels ... its no biggie.

I can't say I agree with the attitude with which hoppity made his comment, but, let's face it, wouldn't we all care a whole lot more if we were the ones getting a new laptop? *s*

Really? It seems that all a negative attitude does is call attention to you. So, in a sense, you must be annoying yourself, right? If you didn't want attention you wouldn't keep coming back here and posting.

The fact is, every time someone posts a message on any message board, they are seeking attention. What would be the point if we posted something without wanting a response?

So what if someone is happy that they got something new. You don't have to read the thread. Simply go on to the next thread.
