Thanks for the response.  Unfortunately, there are no tools (like OCR) that will actively read text out of images.  What you suggested I do is to take a screenshot, pass it through OCR software, produce a text document, and read it through my screen reader.  That isn't feasible for interacting with software interfaces.  What I would like is for your developers to code the interface with a hotfix that includes laels for all the "text elements on the window.  Even places where text is just text, and not an image aren't accessible.  Fortunately, I can see those with magnification.  Others, however, will not.
