Open/install .wba files with what?

What .exe do you associate the windowblinds .wba files to? I used to be able to click on a download and have it install automatically, but for some reason I changed the association and now I can''t figure out what to associate it to now.

I''ve tried wbconfig.exe and wbload.exe but neither of those work. I can save the file and then install it via the config program, but I want it to install automatically . . . .???

Btw, I have version 3.51.

Hmm. If you messed up your associations by accident you might try this...

Remame your .wba file to .zip extension and then unzip the contents into your windowblinds folder but you might want to make a special folder for it named after the skin just to be safe. Then you should be able to then go into windowblinds via the desktop rightclick and find the skin residing there.

Hmm. -And just to clarify something...DEFINITELY make the folder for the skin and name it correctly...one way to know for sure what to name the folder is to open up the .UIS file with notepad and look at the default folder name for the images.

Also...if you don't mind reinstalling...sometimes just a simple reinstall will fix assocations even tho you might want to make a back-up of your skins you've already got just in case.

Right click the wba and go to the 'open with' option. Select the 'choose program' bit. Pick Windowblinds from the list and check the box that says 'alwyas use this prog to open'.

The only reason I use that option tho is if I don't have a file assocation period. Usually if I use that option I don't get the typical icon to go with it and get some funky overlay of the right icon but tinier and over another icon.

But for most folks...they don't care what the icons look like... I'm just used to having control.

Uhhh, like I said I tried opening it with wbconfig.exe and wbload.exe and neither will load the file. wbconfig just opens up, but nothing from the file loads.

I can save the file, then use the "install from disk" option, but again . . . I want to have them install automatically like I had before . . . click on the download, select open, then the file loads.

Did you try reinstalling the prog? That almost immediately fixes all association probs.

Just uninstalled, reinstalled . . . same thing. It must be something wrong with the file type association. It should do an automatic "install from disk" operation when you click on the file, but I don't know where to associate it to do this.
