All fences move to one monitor when monitors are turned off overnight.

Dual monitor setup a problem on new PC.

I just installed a new PC when the MB died on my old system.

Both the old and new systems run Windows 10 u1803 with all patches. I had no noticeable issues on the old PC.

The old monitors were connected to the PC via display ports as are the new monitors.

Since installing Fences on the new PC, I have a condition where all my Fences move to one monitor when I turn off my monitors at night. I have set the view on Fences to "lock fences", which was true on the old system, so I didn't move them around accidentally. But, that doesn't seem to affect the behavior I'm seeing.

Each morning I have to "unlock" my Fences, move the ones on top, and then move the Fences that were underneath to the correct monitor and reset the location of all the fences I've had to move. I'll try restoring layout but that's still a band-aid, not a solution.

I've been unable to determine what's different between the two systems.

Any ideas of settings that might help?

Ive got the same problem with my 2 screen setup. I found a fence on top of the other fences in the morning.

@AzDude - I had already left the office when I got your reply. I apologize I'm just getting back to this.

I have 2 monitors, Dell P2419H running on display ports.

I did not have a valid snapshot when I first experienced this problem. My snapshots were from an older PC setup. I fully restored my fences but not my icons to the fences. I have since seen the problem only in passing.

Windows 10 seems to react very quickly to combine all desktop items to one screen when I turn off the power to a single monitor. I never had this issue with my old monitors, but Windows seems to recognize the new monitors more readily. I suspect this behavior is directly related to the power state of the monitors being actively detected by Windows.

Another factor that may have eliminated the issue are the recent updates to Windows. I'm trying to hit a moving target.

Although my fences are staying put now, I still have a few icons that are not assigned to fences that relocate every time I restart. Restoring Icons will resolve this issue, but I'm still not sure why I have the issue.
