Hopefully I'm missing something here. I'm trying out Start10 because I prefer drop-down menus over the clunky icons in Win10. In addition to just having drop-down menus it's paramount for my purposes to be able to reorganize the shortcut folders and individual links and regroup them in to new folders in All Programs.
For example;
Say I have three different graphic software applications, A, M and Z showing in the All Programs section. Those links are folders and then the sub menu drop-down below those folders have multiple individual shortcuts. Since they are spread apart alphabetically in All Programs I want to tidy all this up and not have to scroll up and down through every single app to find & select any of these three graphics apps.
I would want to place a new shortcut folder named "Graphics Apps" that appears on the All Programs list...then drag the folder shortcuts from the All Program listings for A, M and Z programs (that include the respective related shortcuts within those folders) in to "Graphics Programs". Then when you open All Programs I just have to click on the folder "Graphics Programs" and then drop-down menus for all three apps appear for your selection. This was easy in the Win7 OS but not finding a way to do it with Start10 and it seems you cannot just drag shortcut folders and individual shortcut links in to a new folder.
I got as far as making a new folder in "Configure/Add".
If you "display as menu item" it appears with shortcuts on the right hand side which is not where you want it. I tried dragging a shortcut from the left side in to it and it allowed for that action but the shortcut link simply disappeared and now does not show on either the left side nor under the new folder.
If you set the new folder to "display as link" it does appear on the left side however it just opens that empty folder in a new Windows Explorer window and using it that way you would have to recreate each individual shortcut that you would want in that folder and then delete the original "pinned" shortcuts on the left side.
So is that how it works to regroup your shortcuts in to a new folder or am I missing the trick?
Appreciate any help, thanks.
