Unable to download the file. I thought my firewall was blocking it. I had a similar problem with Norton and Revo. Their downloads were also stopped by Windows. Norton support had to use a direct link to the files they needed to get their downloads to work. Microsoft seems to have really messed up the security settings on this update. Still trying to figure out a workaround. If you can email the file as an email attachment that would help me here. By the way, I like your work!

That was one of the first steps I took {working with Chrome as my default browser} LOL. I have three pc's working on getting this file, two of them have Fences working. None of them can load this site with 1803 running. Hmmmmm. Sorry if I seem sloppy in responses. That last one was very early in the am, my time. I am a senior citizen and just happened to walk by the pc.

The script downloaded and uninstalled Fences. I read through and se that it scrubbed out all remnants of 2 and 3. I tried to reinstall using Object Desktop Manager. Wrong thing to do. Explorer immediately crashed and generated crash reports. Thanks for the script for the download. I think Windows Defender is the culprit. Anyway, I am looking at the previous information you gave me to see if I can get any further with this issue. Any other ideas? Once again, thanks for the assistance.

ERROR INACTIV FILENAME ON SETUP archive filename inactiv filename in setup PROGRAM INITIALLY SEEMED TO NOT RUN. LOOKING AT tASKBAR SNATCHED THE RUNNING PROGRAM, LICENSE SCREEN AGREEMENT. CHECKED AGREE, SETUP COMPLETED AND STARTED CRASHING EXPLORER. AGAIN. GOT A FILE FROM MY ACCOUNT, LIST OF PROGRAMS IN OBJECT DESKTOP MANAGER. ONLY PLACE WHERE I HAVE FENCES 3 DOWNLOAD. If I copy the file to my Desktop and Run as Admin, program fails at agree to license screen. that screen never appears on screen, it is minimized to the taskbar and flashes on for two seconds then off and Fences starts crashing Windows Explorer again. Each time I have purged before installing and used a Fences file from my account. I have sent in the Crash Reports almost every time it has happened, if they are received. Seems very strange?

I don't use Portals much. Don't have any active. Just using my Fences to group a bunch of Shortcuts into things like Security and Games. A few extra pages. Nothing very fancy. I am on top of a DeskScape Background Animation. I think it is by AzDude!

Have you tried the clean boot steps to see if there is conflicting apps that create the issue https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#cleanboot

BTW do you have Websence and/or Forcepoint installed in your system?

Hello,

 About a month ago I gave up on my older PC and bought a new one 

so I started with a clean install of win 10 1803 added my programs and

the stradock stuff and all works just fine.

Not trying to add to the old computer was the wise thing to do no telling

what was hiding in the background.

Sometimes it is best just to start over clean nothing better than a clean machine .

I am also running Win 10 ENT. build 1803. Today updates were installed: KB4338832, KB4338819, KB338819, KB2267602, KB890830, and KB2267602. 

Fences now causes explorer.exe to crash when trying to start up. I did the purge using the bat file and reinstalled with no luck. I will try to uninstall updates from today to see if I can get it back up. 

**Could only uninstall one update, no luck. I can access Fences Settings and when I try to restore a snapshot I get an error. Not sure if it helps:

Issue Finally Resolved. Microsoft issued another patch to Update 1803. Everyone was writing about this latest patch fixing their problems. My software issues with "Fences 3" and a lot of other 3rd party software were still unresolved. A fresh rebuild of the entire system was required. This was NOT an old system. Thank you to the people at Stardock for their help with trying to get through what Microsoft had done. It is too bad it takes so much effort to be a Windows 10 user. Good thing I'm retired and have the time! Great Stardock Products, though! Thanks again hope to run across all of you again soon!
