Sorry to revive this month old thread, but I too am having this exact problem. This issue has been around longer than a month. I had this issue back when it was originally released, and led to me abandoning it. I had hoped it had changed since.
I believe I am running 1.10.0, which is what was pushed to me after purchasing the app yesterday.
However, I now see a 1.12.0 download as well.
Now in this thread a suggestion of: http://storage.stardock.com/files/beta/Groupy1.15_rc_sd.exe
Without changing anything, running the default 1.10.0 I got after buying the app, I was getting this crash:
Code: xml
- - - 1000 2 100 0x80000000000000 228888 Application WIN10 - Explorer.EXE 10.0.17134.1 425b30b2 UxTheme.dll 10.0.17134.1 66e92861 c0000005 000000000002a090 2290 01d3f2c8bfe39f20 C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\UxTheme.dll c0866cac-3882-49fc-a7f7-d4094b1012da
People here have already suggested that 1.12 or 1.15 do not solve this problem.
Instead, I am testing if simply changing Visuals > Groupy Positions from 'Combine if possible' to 'Always Place Above'.
Please, Stardock, fix the issue with UxTheme.dll on Windows 10. Don't give us the option to combine or stack, if it isn't going to be a valid option to use.
It always crashes my Explorer.exe. I do not have this behavior with Groupy uninstalled. My system is very stable, and only since the introduction of this program, have explorer crashes begun.
