I'm commenting on the beginning of the thread.
I noticed about 29 years ago that life is not fare and I don't think it was meant to be fare.
Oh well life goes on.

PUH-LEEEZE... everyone is so thin skinned around here. Now don't get me wrong, I love it when I'm in the Top Downloads or Top Authors (however brief those appearances may be) but I don't obssess over it. By the same token, those who say they don't give a flip about downloads shouldn't climb all over those that do.

People skin for different reasons, like most communities WC is not monolithic. Instead of dumping on each other for our different reasons for skinning, what we should be doing is celebrating the fact that we ALL enjoy it WHATEVER THE REASON.

Am I therefore 'falsely' in the top authors as well?

I am so confused.

Just call a spade a spade and don't allow anything but downloads directly from the site to count PERIOD. It would save a lot of confusion for everyone. "_

If that isn't the biggest piece of melodrama.....Please, lets keep it real. I fail to understand the reason why the issue of ratings continues to come up in this manner. I mean, it's one thing to have a discussion, but it always seems to digress to this. I appreciate the skinners and the others who contribute to the site, regardless of rating(s).

Doreen remembers the dayz when I seen my download num get even (1) hit I jumped up & down for joy and that twas that (and thinking hey someone out in the world actually liked my purple photo image of the rug ratz cartoon icq skin!?) hehe
everyone these days wants highlights and I don't know what? isn't skinning suppose to be just for fun or did that actually stop this year or last? Zzzzzz

and I'm not trying to pick on you Angela so don't mind me, it's just everyone gets so concerned on this stuff everywhere now, and before it was not like that too much, but yeah ppl still complained about things here and there...

I doubt anything or anyway the admins fix the way things get to the "Top Ten" will please all of the ppl all of the time, that's impossible

and you take care of yourself girl, stop getting all worked up on this stuff!

Simple explanation....the old system was being abused...the new system is unlikely to be as easily abused.

There may or may not be a direct corelation between actual numbers indicated and status on a list as one can be updated instantly and the other may not be.

All that aside, there is no justification for ranting and/or raving....one way or another.

Like Doreen, and countless others who have been on any and all levels of skinning's popularity, I'm glad to even get just one download....because it means some idiot out there is stupid enough to appreciate the stupid stuff I stupidly do.

Anything beyond all that is best left in the High-school Dramatics class...

I would suggest you re-read the whole thread and pay attention to all of your caps, double spacing, insinuations about who may or may not have a brain left, etc. It just proves my point. Note that I did not say "Angela, you are a bad and melodramatic person - please go away." I was simply stating my perception that you were being melodramatic. I think that is a choice. I know that I can be melodramatic if I want to be.

OK...you were 'over it' by #73...so what, pray tell, was #79, #85 and #89 all about?

Assuming reasonable explanations were/have been forth-coming why the vitriol?

No one has been diddled out of anything...at least not now...perhaps prior to the new system they were...when people evidently were cheating the system for some puerile 15 minutes of fame.

Everyone should relax, step back and question their motivation/s. We are adults, not children...
