Recent Apps List Empty After Windows Update

I recently updated to win10 build 1709. Since then, my recent apps list has been empty. I've tried a purge and reinstall with no effect.

Hello,

Have you turn on "Show recently used applications'?

Yes, that setting was enabled both before and after my purge/reinstall.

And after your purge/reinstall did the list get repopulate as you using your computer and launching apps?

No, no apps have reappeared. I have tried opening a variety, but the menu is still blank.

Than it possible that your pc have disabled the OS option to log information on recently used apps?

By the way, I noticed there are quite a few people who experienced this after the window update

about 2 to 3 weeks ago, I started to have this same problem.  My recent apps list is blank like the pic above showed.  I've followed this thread, and have all the settings correct, yet the recent apps list will not populate anymore.  Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please also try the solution from here. https://www.howtogeek.com/236711/how-to-turn-off-recent-items-and-frequent-places-in-windows-10/

and it still not solve your problem. Please try purge and reinstall start10 https://forums.stardock.com/486022/start10-support-faq#reinstalling

reboot, retest and report back.

BTW, need to be reminded, your old list of recent used apps will never comeback instantly. The list needed to be rebuild/repopulate back.
