The only way I have ever seen a way to do what you want is to do this
Right click on the icon on the dock. Mouseover Settings and click "Edit this shortcut". When a new window opens at the top it will say "Title". Delete the title. Now no more name. Of course you can also rename the title there.
There is nothing in OD settings to do what you want.
