Two cursors with CursorFX

its mid 2020 and I'm having this issue ONLY on the monitor set to scale to 125%.  It's definitely something with the scaling.  out of my 3 monitors, its literally never occurred outside of the scaled monitor (its vertical for emails, etc, and scaled up for easier reading).

this is going to sound cheesy, but you could set an invisible cursor as your windows cursor.  just saying.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Not seeing it on my system. Need to know more on your system.

1) Windows version. Please use Winver.exe for full Windows version numbers.

2) CursorFX version.

3) Monitors details ie resolution, scaling and connection type on each monitor.

1) Windows 10, version 2004, build 19041.421

2) CursorFX 2.16

3) DVI-D input, 144hz, 1080x1920 resolution, 125% scaling (yes it's a vertical monitor, the resolution is correct in that order)

 

Other two monitors are display port, 144hz, 1920x1080, no scaling.

I'm not bothered by it, nor asking for support, was simply indicating that it's still a thing.  Hope the above helps you guys out.

I just updated to Windows 2004 19041.450 and now on my 3840x2160 (scale 250%) monitor and the cursor is huge and flickering with a normal sized cursor underneath.

On my second monitor 1920x1080 everything is fine.

I went through the purge process listed in the FAQ and the issue is still there.

OS: Win 10 Pro version 2004

OS Build: 19041.450

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Is the issue appear to curtain cursor theme or any cursor theme? Does reboot helps?

It's every cursor in CursorFX, rebooting does not help, re-intalling after rebooting after using the purge tool does not help.

If I disable CursorFX and use the default Windows cursor or any other Windows cursor everything is fine.

Do need to know if you have install the CursorFX in another location other than its default locations? If you do, please uninstall and reinstall it in its default location, reboot, retest and report back.

I use Object Desktop, so I have no control where it installs CursorFX, but here is where it installs:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\CursorFX

We have never seen this issue with CusorFX 4 and sounds exactly like 2.13.

When you open your CursorFX UI, does it look like this?

Also, are you RDP'ing to a PC and seeing this or is it one you are actually physically at and working on?

Yes the CursorFX UI looks like that same version 4.03 and everything.

I changed my main monitor to the 4k one and the cursor on the 1080p monitor is very small and flickering with an even smaller cursor.

If I have my 1080p monitor set as the main, on the 4k monitor the cursor is huge and flickering with a smaller cursor under it.

I also do not know what RDP'ing means. I am only working on this PC.

 

CursorFX 4 was working fine before the Windows update. I updated from Version 1909, OS Build 18363.815 to Version 2004, OS Build 19041.450

Yes I am able to size it down, but all that does is make the cursor smaller. It still flickers and has an even smaller cursor under it.

If you disable the shadow (next tab over), apply, does it still happen?

We just can't reproduce it nor have we had any other reports.

I ran the purge tool again and this time it uninstalls everything (as far as I can tell), but

it comes up with an error "Invalid uninstall control file C:\Programfiles(x86)\Stardick\CursorFX\uninstall\uninstall.xml"

That file does get removed after using the tool.

 

Anyways thanks for the help, but I think I am done trying to figure this out.

Seems like there was another report on this issue back on June the second, "cursor resize and inconsistent animation issue after I did the Windows 10 May update." Reply #7 https://forums.stardock.com/499729/multiple-monitor-sizing-bug

Before my Windows update I did report an issue of the cursor's not changing size and colors between monitors, but the flickering and two cursors started after the Windows update. I didn't think the two were related since I've been using the default values since May.

Anyways, since you are aware of the issue since May. I will continue waiting for an update.
